Michael A. Garofalo, SPPA, AIC, AINS

Michael A. Garofalo founded MAG Public Adjusters with a commitment to helping policyholders understand their claims and document their losses thoroughly. Working in the insurance claims industry since 2008, Mike brings experience in insurance carrier adjusting, public adjusting, and property mitigation to his work with homeowners and business owners.

Mike began his claims career as a Claims Service Specialist and Field Property Adjuster for a regional insurance carrier. That foundation gave him firsthand knowledge of how insurers investigate, evaluate, and resolve property claims. Before founding MAG, he worked for two nationally recognized public adjusting firms, representing policyholders with residential and commercial losses, including complex hurricane damage in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida.

His background also includes serving as a Project and Business Development Manager for a mitigation franchise. That experience helps him connect the physical work of recovery with the documentation needed to support a claim. He has also served on appraisal and reference panels, bringing a practical understanding of how loss estimates and supporting evidence are evaluated when disagreements arise.

Mike’s professional designations include Senior Professional Public Adjuster (SPPA), Certified Professional Public Adjuster (CPPA), Associate in Claims (AIC), and Associate in General Insurance (AINS). He is also a Certified Property Appraiser & Umpire (CPAU) through the Insurance Appraisal and Umpire Association, holds an IICRC certification related to water remediation and mitigation, and is HAAG Certified in Roof Inspection.

A proud member of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (NAPIA) and the Massachusetts Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (MAPIA), Mike serves on several NAPIA committees. He is MAPIA’s current secretary and previously served on its board of directors. His involvement reflects his commitment to professional education, ethical advocacy, and the public adjusting profession.

Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Bridgewater State University in 2008 and an Associate of Science in Business Administration Management from Massasoit Community College in 2009.

He lives in Rockland, Massachusetts, with his wife and two daughters and is actively involved in youth sports coaching. His community service includes serving as chair of the Rockland Recreation Board and as a member of the Rockland School Committee. He was also a founding member and Director of Fundraising for P.A.R.K. (Play Areas for Rockland Kids), a nonprofit dedicated to creating accessible public playgrounds.
